On Aug.27, a short ceremony was held to officially open the pedestrian and bicycle lane on the newly renovated Peace Bridge connecting Canada and USA.  This project promotes a healthier environment by connecting the biking and hiking paths as well as connecting people across the border of the Niagara River.
Dignitaries from both sides were there to celebrate the opening, including USA Congressman Higgins who noted that this was the opposite of “building walls”. Representatives from Niagara area Rotary Clubs on both sides of the River also connected with the Ontario’s Niagara Parks Commission and Niagara River Greenbelt Trail association.
