Two riders (not pictured) from the Rotary Club of Fort Erie joined with other riders from other clubs both in the Niagara Region of Canada and United States to participate in the Pedal for Polio fund raiser. Funds raised is used to continue to eradicate the debilitating Polio disease in poorer countries. PLEASE NOTE that we Canadians take this for granted. When our children are born, they automatically get vaccinated in our hospitals. We don’t realize that other countries don’t have this luxury. The funds raised is matched by Rotary International, then matched by Canada and finally matched by Bill Gates Foundation. Congratulations Niagara region; you helped raise approximately 50K which would end up matched to about 400K. (Numbers are still coming in so, we’ll update as soon as possible.)
